Single Pillar Hoist Description
This single pillar hoist is designed to lift and tip a 200 Litre tote bin at a discharge height of 2700mm. The single pillar hoist is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel and is fully TIG welded throughout. Lifting with the single pillar hoist is achieved by a ¾” Simplex chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column. This single pillar hoist is designed to be bolted mobile on a track to guide it between two cooking vessels for loading.
Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and either 3mm wire, 40mm aperture stainless steel weld mesh or 2mm stainless steel sheet to meet the requirements of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery. It would enclose the single pillar hoist to a height of 2200mm on three sides with a double hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the single pillar hoist from operating with the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position. The single pillar hoist control system was interfaced with the cooking vessel controls to ensure that the single pillar hoist could only operate at the appropriate times.
Single Pillar Hoist Application Story
This is a guarded 200 litre tote bin single pillar hoist with a discharge height of 2700mm. The machine is mobile on a track so that it can be moved backwards and forwards to feed two cooking vessels. When the single pillar hoist is positioned correctly, an interlock switch is made allowing the bin to be lifted and tipped.
