Pharmaceutical Lift Description
This Pharmaceutical Lift is a single pillar machine with a Safe Working Load of 1000 Kgs and a lift height of 4128mm. The lifting platform will be big enough to allow a standard pallet (1200 x 1000 x 1500mm High) to be loaded and raised to the height of the mezzanine floor for unloading by hand over a barrier. The Pharmaceutical Lift was constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel with a DP180 Grit brushed finish, was bolted to the floor and braced to the mezzanine floor at the upper level. Lifting with this Pharmaceutical Lift is accomplished via a 1” Duplex Lifting Chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column.
When the pallet is loaded, it is simply placed onto the lifting carriage base plates. At the upper level, the top layer of the pallet will stop at the same height as the barrier around the top of the Pharmaceutical Lift. This allowed the top layer to be removed and control of the Pharmaceutical Lift was then via ‘dead man handle’ control by the operator at the top who could inch the machine upwards to unload each subsequent layer on the pallet. At the full up position, the top of the pallet was level with the barrier and once the pallet was empty it was returned to the full down position.
Safety Guard to PD 5304 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm box section and 2mm stainless steel sheet to meet the requirements of PD 5304 safety of machinery. This guard will reach to a height of 4128mm with the top 1000mm forming a barrier around the Pharmaceutical Lift at the upper level. At the lower level there was a single guard door that hinged outwards and which was electrically interlocked to prevent the Pharmaceutical Lift being operated with the door open. In addition, the door is mechanically locked closed whilst the Pharmaceutical Lift is running and may only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position.
