Single Pillar Lift for 200 Litre Tote Bins
BTM/250/2030/B/G
Single Pillar Lift Description
This single pillar lift for 200 Litre tote bins is designed to lift and tip at a
discharge height of 2030mm. The single pillar lift is constructed from Grade 304
stainless steel and is fully TIG welded throughout. Lifting with the single pillar
lift is achieved by a ¾” Simplex chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the
top of the main column. This single pillar lift is designed to be bolted to the
floor.
Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery
The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and
2mm stainless steel sheet to meet the requirements of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery.
It encloses the single pillar lift to a height of 2200mm on two sides, 1700mm at
the front, with a hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically
and mechanically interlocked preventing the single pillar lift from operating with
the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage
is at the full down position. The single pillar lift control system has provision
for a ‘Call for Product’ signal to be connected.

Single Pillar Lift Application Story
This single pillar lift machine is used to load an Easiweigh depositing system for
a ready meals producer. The single pillar lift was loaded with a cooked chilled
vegetable and tipped into the Easiweigh intermediate vibratory hopper. The amount
of discharge was controlled by the Easiweigh control system via a call for product
sensor to ensure that the vibratory hopper was not over loaded with product. Once
the single pillar lift had reached full tip it returned automatically to the full
down position and activated an audible alarm to prompt the operator to load another
bin.
