Single Column Lift for round Waste Containers

Single Column Lift Description

This Single Column Lift is designed to lift and tip at a discharge height of 2400mm. It was built to handle two different drums that waste was collected in. The Single Column Lift is constructed from Grade 304 stainless steel, is fully TIG welded throughout and is designed to be bolted to the floor. Lifting with the Single Column Lift is achieved by a ¾" Simplex chain driven by a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the main column. The first drum was mobile on castors and was wheeled up a slight ramp into the lifting carriage where it was retained during the tipping cycle. The second drum from a Vacuum cleaner was lifted by two operators into the lifting carriage. The lifting carriage was manufactured from a formed sheet metal semi enclosure that the drums were loaded into. The design of the semi enclosure prevented any product from being spilt from either drum during tipping. The Single Column Lift discharged into a stainless steel hopper under which a bulk bag was suspended to catch the Waste Product.

Safety Guard to PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery

The safety guard is constructed from 40 x 40 x 3mm stainless steel box section and 2mm stainless steel sheet to meet the requirements of PD 5304:2005 Safety of Machinery. It encloses the Single Column Lift to a height of 2200mm on three sides with a hinged door on the fourth side. The guard door is electrically and mechanically interlocked preventing the Single Column Lift from operating with the door open. In addition, the guard door can only be opened when the lifting carriage is at the full down position.

Single Column Lift Electrical Control

This Single Column Lift is fitted with an IP65 Stainless Steel Control Panel which is mounted on the safety guard. The control panel incorporates the following controls; Up, Down, Guard Release, Emergency Stop and a Reset Facility. The Single Column Lift operation is latched via push buttons so that pressing the 'Up' push button will raise the lift to the full up position. Once the Single Column Lift has discharged the load, pressing the 'Down' push button will return the machine to the full down position. The control panel has the facility for a 'call to run' signal to be connected if required.

Single Column Lift Application Story

This Single Column Lift machine is used to load waste coco chafe into a Bulk Bag via a transfer chute. The chafe was collected in round containers and these were loaded into the Single Column Lift and tipped.
