Sanitising Conveyor Description
The Sanitising Conveyor incorporated the following design features:-
- • Manufactured from food industry approved materials and components i.e. stainless
steel grade 304 and food quality plastics such as nylon or PTFE.
- • All conveyor drive and idle ends guarded to the Safety of Machinery PD5304:2005
specification.
- • All equipment was designed and manufactured to comply with CE European 'Essential
Health & Safety Requirements@ as specified in the Machinery Safety Directive (89/392/EEC,91/368/EEC
& 94/44/EEC) (The supply of Machinery Safety Regulations 1992)
- • The Electrical Control Panel was purpose built; all work will be carried out in
accordance with the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations including all
control gear to comply with IP2X and EN60204. (Remote mount possible)
- • Two part conveyor belt in Low Care Side with the outfeed end reaching into the High
Care Side. The conveyor drive was slung underneath the outfeed conveyor so that
it was not at the end of the conveyor and protruding into High Care.
- • There were Gull Wing type side panels either side of the sanitising tunnel which
were hinged to allow access for cleaning.

some alignment rails at the entrance to the tunnel.

Conveyor
|
The conveyor was split in the middle at the position of the spray bar to allow a
360 degree clean. There was a single drive motor slung underneath the conveyor near
the outfeed end. The infeed conveyor was driven via a chain link between the two
conveyor sections

The Conveyor was able to run in a 'dry' mode which was Engineer accessible inside
the control panel

Holding Tank
|
50 Litre tank, pre dosed, pumped to nozzles at around 0.63L/min & 2 bar giving 10
minutes constant run time if not refilled. The tank slid out for easy cleaning

Auto Fill & Dump
|
There was a stainless steel inlet valve that opened when a level sensor indicated
that the water level has dropped. There was a stainless steel outlet valve that
operated when the dump cycle is initiated. When the outlet valve is open, the inlet
valve must be closed.

Sanitising Conveyor Application Story
The Sanitising Conveyor is designed to use Ozone Water to sanitise various products
being transferred from a Low Care to High Care environment within a Food Manufacturing
facility. The Sanitising Conveyor was designed as a bespoke piece of equipment to
meet the customers needs exactly.
