High Speed Lift Description
This High Speed Lift is a single pillar platform lift with a Safe Working Load of
200 Kgs. The lift can lower to within 50mm of the floor and the lift carriage consists
of a set of three forks to allow the Multi Shuttle Kart rail to be fixed to it.
The Multi Shuutle Kart is loaded with a tray from the infeed conveyor at a height
of 1611mm and then the High Speed Lift transfers quickly to one of three levels.
The Multi Shuttle Kart transfers off the lift onto the rails and deposits the tray
at the appropriate position before returning to the lift.
The High Speed Lift is constructed from mild steel with an epoxy painted finish
and is designed to be bolted to the floor without the need for a pit. Lifting with
the High Speed Lift is accomplished via a motor gearbox mounted at the top of the
main column and a 40 x 40mm pitch Ballscrew with a maximum speed of 270mm per second.
This gave a maximum traverse time from the full up to the full down position of
approximately 5 seconds.
Electrical Control
The High Speed Lift was fitted with a Powder Coated Steel Terminal Box and all electrical
switches were terminated in this box along with the drive motor and brake connections.
The main electrical control for the High Speed Lift was carried out in the main
system PLC.

High Speed Lift Application Story
This High Speed Lift was designed to transfer a Multi Shuttle Kart from the loading
position to three levels of racking. The Kart was loaded with a tray of product
with a known storage position which was on one of the three storage levels. The
High Speed Lift was an efficient lift design to facilitate the quick transfer of
the Kart between the required levels.
